Oh, I'm so sorry! I should have posted the response I gave below here as well. Essentially, characters will not need a name change unless they're becoming part of a pre-existing family; to avoid confusion with characters suddenly using new names in the game, if characters have unusual names we'd suggest you make it so that they do technically have a name in their AU history but only ever go by their canon name (which might be a nickname, for example). You don't even have to think of a name if you'd rather not and just have your character go on to question the fact that they can't remember their actual name as they become more aware of their true memories.
